Wasps will look to keep up their outstanding form in the development league as they host Firwood Waterloo. Currently lying one point off the top of the table, the hosts will look to add to their seven wins from eight this weekend.
Following a 47-27 victory over Loughborough Lightning last weekend, the development side host Firwood who have yet to pick up a victory in the development thus far this season. With the league as tight as it is proving to be, points difference could play a factor, and with the second-best points differential in the league, this weekend could prove opportunity to improve further.
Wasps have made seven changes to the victorious side from last weekend. Two debutants for the development side are selected in the backline. Katie Mason (Sponsored by SNAP Sponsorship & Lions Sports Academy), who has nine first team appearances this season, will start at full-back. Zoe Smith will also re-join the squad she was part of last season on the wing.
There are changes in the half backs with Deidre Roberts picking up the start at fly-half with Sammy Graham (Sponsored by European Astrotech) at scrum half.
Three changes are made to the forwards as Christina Balogun, try scorer from last weekend, picks up a start in the backrow. Emily Maisey (Sponsored by Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners) will make her second appearance in the development league this season. The final changes see’s Caroline Flohil come in to partner Maria Waghorn and Danielle Harrison in the front row.
With 27 tries in total from just the starting line-up, Wasps will be hoping to maintain they clinical attacking prowess at Twyford Avenue on Saturday and pick up a victory.
