After 8 weeks of intense pre-season, Wasps FC finally took to the field in competitive action when they traveled to Kilburn Cosmos to compete in the Brown Cup after a four year absence. With a young squad of players from the 1s and 2s it was a good opportunity to look at new lads and combinations.
Wasps FC battled hard against the physically bigger, more drilled and experienced Kilburn team. Two converted tries from Brook Moses in the second half were deserved efforts for the good territory and possession in the second half.
With two weeks to go before the start of the league season, there were reasons to be optimistic, but there is still allot of work to complete if the 3 Wasps sides are to be competitive this year.
