Wasps U14 V Old Albanians U14B Away

This was our first league fixture in the U14’s Division 4 of the Herts and Middx league.
The game kicked off at 10.30am on a sunny, but windy and slightly chilly day at the magnificent grounds of the Old Albanian RFC in St Albans.
Wasps looked the bigger side in stature with our two new centres, Isaiah and Louis towering over everyone else. Within the first minute Isaiah ran the full length of the pitch to score our first try against a bewildered Old Albanians, who were caught off guard. O A then hit back with two tries and a conversion to take the lead. Wasps then scored with another run in try by Louis to even the score. These two players were dominating the midfield, but it was noticeable our passing was slow and we were not getting the ball out wide, with the result we were getting stuck in the middle of the field.
Just before half time, O A scored again leading 17:12 into the break.
Wasps were more dominant in the second half, with Isaiah adding a further hat trick of tries against one from O A. Charlie did well to convert a couple of them, most of the kicks being difficult angles, with a strong cross wind.
Wasps had a well deserved win against good opposition, which is a tremendous start to the season.
