The Killer Bs hit the A1(M) in search of their 3rd straight league victory. Despite a strong Hitchin Team their determination saw them through in the end

It was a rather dang dull trip past Brent Cross and South Mimms to Hitchin. 18 Players made the trip North to represent their club, thanks to James Hill for stepping up at the last minute.

In truth we didn't see the ball in the first 10 mins with all the posession going Hitchin's way. A well-organised outfit they put the team under significant pressure pinning us back in our 22. Despite a try saving tackle in the in-goal area Hitchin eventually breeched our defences for a deserved 5 point lead.

This seemed to be the spark the team needed with Gautier & Arthur leading some penetrating runs into the opponents half. Eventually Birthday Boy Bojan broke free from a couple of tackles to go in under the posts with the extras added by Harry Bird. 7-5 at half time.

Too much individual play, not enough support and strong Hitchen forwards play in the breakdown saw the Wasps team under continued pressure in the second 1/2.

A rejig of 10 & 12 with Will Jones moving into fly-half to boss the game, giving Harry Bird some space to run seemed to be the turning point. Suddenly we seemed to have some more go forward, Bojan crossed for a second before Hitchin rallied with a reply.

12-10 to Wasps conversion in front of the posts to follow. Hats off to Harry who charged down the kick to preserve our slim lead with 2 minutes to go.

Straight back from the kick off we turned over the ball, spun it out to Raffa on the wing who galloped in the make it safe, so easy why hadn't we done that all match? No time for the restart Final Score 17-10 and the 4 points in the bag.

Awaiting Old As result to see how we fare in the league Standings.

Celebrations for all (a huge Tin for Bojan's Birthday) and a not so dang dull trip back South with a job well done.

Man of the Match Conor Gilmartin for upping the tempo and excellent passing & decision making
