U14's Ricoh Tour

The tour this year took us to Coventry to watch Wasps play a hard fought battle against Leicester in their penultimate game of the season. The Tigers managed a strong win with only 14 players but at least Wasps earned a bonus point.

The pros then made way for the main event of the weekend The U14’s Ricoh Sevens. Leicester Forest, Old Coventrians and Wasps played a three way tournament of fast seven a side rugby. All the games were played with great spirit and bravery as the three clubs fought as hard as the pros in front of 32,000 seats. It was a great honour to be allowed to play on the magnificent turf. Old Coventrians proved to be a strong squad winning the competition outright with their two teams won 7 of their 8 games played.

Fittingly Wasps and Leicester Forest ended on equal points. Sadly Leicester forest ended with a number of injuries and we wish all their boys speedy recoveries. It was great to see both Wasp and OC’s boys readily make themselves available to play for LFRFC so they could complete their games.

A presentation of commemorative plaques was made to the opposition and we made our way for dinner. For legal reasons, and in the interest of all parties concerned, what else happened on tour must not be divulged by me or any others of the tour party. And any suggestions of me booking travel arrangements in the future will be strongly advised against.
