Wasps vs Ruislip

Twas a Foggy day on twyford playing fields. today was going to be an epic battle of skill, tactics and determination with the result unknown. nothing is certain in this filed of conflict that we call Twyford. as the troops readied themselves, adorning their accoutrements of battle, the six studded boots the, fearsome (non sponsored) mouth guard and as they mentally prepared themselves for the battle ahead they waited to see the team known as Ruislip. how many were they to be, how big and did they favour Canterbury or Gilbert as their preferred choice of footwear.

Through the fog in the distance it was possible to make out the outline of a monstrous being, towering above the pitch casting dark shadows and playing tricks with the eyes, the sound of banshees drifting across the plain. What was this fearsome creature, then we realised it was the U8’s warming up under the oak tree.

Out of the mist we saw them, dressed in blood red, Ruislip U11’s stomped across the 22 like a unstoppable machine. Then they stopped. Actually they weren't that scary, their boots although not as fancy as Nikita's were normal. We played some touch, practised some skills then played some games. We won both games convincingly.

They even joined us for Mumby's run! even if some of our own didn't join in, don’t worry, we know who you are!

Yes we did beat them but only because our forwards woke up at half time in spite of rousing speeches from James, Marcus and Jok. (Probably helped after the fog cleared and we could all see the ball.) Most importantly we enjoyed the days rugby, and went home proud to be wear the Black and Gold.
