Saracens showed their intent and physicality early on with two tries coming through the forwards . Canadian international centres Sarah Ulmer and Mandy Marchak made the decisive breaks throughout the game, with England back row star Maggie Alphonsi supporting cleverly to score a hat trick with one in the first half and two in the second.
Wasps trailed 24-0 at the break, and Alphoni's brace, early in the second half, stretched the Saracens lead to 34-0, but Wasps picked themselves up for the final 20 minutes and upped the intensity.
Shelley Rae took a quick penalty and showed great vision to feed a wide pass to winger Natasha Brennan for her to dash over in the corner. Hannah Edwards impressively slotted over the conversion from out wide. Wasps kept up the pressure in the Saracens 22, with Hannah Edwards running a great line to score a second for Wasps.
The match ended 34-12, a scoreline which didn’t entirely do Wasps justice as they did share the possession and territory throughout most of the match.
The result means Wasps are now third in the Premiership table, six points behind the leaders, and four behind second-placed Richmond.
