For the second time in 2 years, Wasps FC have won the Middlesex Club Sevens.
Despite playing the first match with only six players (including one nearly old enough to qualify for a bus pass), the men's Sevens team went unbeaten to meet Old Millhillians in the final.
After a shaky start and a few panicked phone calls, the cavalry arrived and, in the final match, they ran out comfortable winners, three tries to one better. Millhillians spent most of the final stuck in their own 40, as Griff Ferris marshaled a black curtain defence.
There were tries aplenty from Flynn Sager, Dami Harris, Griff Ferris and Ben Lidagte. Strong support from Marc Blamire, Ahmed Tyson, David Crowe, Gil Fernandes, Alex Hodgkinson and Richard Green kept the senior team's winning record for 2011/12 to 100%.
One more piece of silverware for the cupboard.
