We are deeply saddened by the passing of Richard Sharp OBE on Monday, 3rd November 2025.
A gifted fly-half and revered figure in rugby, Richard represented Redruth, Wasps, Bristol, the Royal Navy, Oxford University, Cornwall, the Barbarians, England, and the British & Irish Lions. He earned two Lions caps during the 1962 tour and won 14 caps for England, famously captaining his country to Five Nations triumph in 1963.
Richard is fondly remembered by his peers at Wasps FC, where his photograph remains proudly displayed among the clubhouse memorabilia, a lasting tribute to his legacy and character.
Our heartfelt thoughts are with Richard’s family at this time.
