A Team report - had 2 games today both against the same BOE team the first was 15 mins each way which was won convincingly by Wasps by 6 to 3. The first half was the best half of rugby played this year where the scrum consistently pushed BOE off the ball, the bigger boys worked very hard in the tight and the most pleasing was attacking play where everyone played as a team and looked to pass to team mates in a better position than themselves. One try involved at least 7 passes. !!
The 2nd game was only 5min each way and Wasps lost 1-0 but on aggregate won 6 to 4. Well done boys!

Player of the Day - Gabriel Hartwill

B Team Report: For the first game against BofE B, the old failings if avoiding tackles re-appeared, letting the opposition go into a 1-3 lead. It was pleasing that we came back to draw the game 3-3. In the second game, the Bank bolstered their team with a few A teamers and came away with a 1-0 win. We had by far the better of both games, pushing the opposition off the ball at will and shading the contact area, but until we learn to concentrate for the whole session, put our tackles in and above all pass when colleagues are better placed, the team will not reach it’s potential. Rugby has to be a team game, not a collection of individuals!!

Player of the Day – Theo Groes, for helping the forwards achieve dominance, putting his tackles in and showing bravery when hurt on the pitch to not want to let his team mates down.

Development team report: The first half of play was focused on condition training mainly around the tackle area. Then onto the serious business. Wasps took an early lead but were hauled back to 4 all with 3 minutes to go. A momentary lapse of concentration let BoE through for last minute try. The truism tackles wins matches was never more apt. However both sets of coaches were impressed with the application of all the players. For most WFC players this is their first year of Rugby so progress has been fantastic.

Player of the Day - Ossian Warren
