Action In Acton RWC QF Weekender -- Report by Rob Newton

Action In Acton RWC QF Weekender -- Report by Rob Newton

Dom Benson27 Oct 2015 - 06:09

The host nation may have been out but several Wasps members, new and old, gathered to watch the thrilling quarter finals at Wasps FC.

Here's a report of the proceedings from the convener of Wasps X Players, Rob Newton:

A great time was had by all who attended over the two day's and the rugby was fantastic - that's if you aren't Scottish. Trotski and Bea will be most disappointed, so much so Trotski probably won't want his picture taken, then again maybe not.

A big thank you to Netta for getting the show on the road and to Mick and his team for the superb running of the event over the two days. Thanks. Even Sol's under 17's put in a winning performance on Sunday.

There was fun, laughter and the singing of all our olde favourites and of course Blackie leading Blaydon Races. Laker led two of his 20 versions of The Wild Rover and as usual Leggo was throwing beer all over the place whilst " Singing in the Rain " and that was after catching a couple of dozen Falling Stars ! It was all so good that Luigi even did one of his " raffles " which nobody won --- oh no, I tell a lie, two people won but didn't get paid, well maybe a little bit. Plus Bellie got awarded a fabulous tie.

On the photo attached ( the only one we can show you before the censor's view them ) Nigel Taylorson is explaining to us rather vigorously about being a double-handed something or other and, in the background ( no it's not Trotski ), Geoff Roberts is pretending to drink because the bloke opposite us is on about -- uggy, uggy, uggy.

Great to see all you guys and girls.

Go the All Blacks

Rob

P.S. A couple of photo's from ACTION in ACTON. Luigi is happy so I guess the " raffle" was successful (even though he's gone all antipodal on us ! -- ed. View the photographs: Action in Acton -- QF Weekender ). Make sure you get down to Acton for the World Cup Fun events this Saturday, from 11am !
