Wasps Ladies left it late to secure their 8th win in a row against Bristol last weekend. Wasps lost centre Sarah Michelson in the warm up with a pulled quad muscle, then 5 minutes into the game England international winger Michaela Staniford went off with a suspected fractured cheek (which we now know will keep her out of the start of the 6 nations) Wasps scored first with a cheeky drop goal from fly half Shelley Rae, then a try from Flanker Charlie Veale gave wasps the lead, Bristol never gave up and fought back well, with 2 minutes to go Bristol scored to put them 21-20 ahead, Wasps restarted with Deena Aiken stealing the ball and giving Wasps a penalty, There was no time for a line out and the kick being too far out to go for posts Wasps decided to tap and go, The forwards aggressively picking from ruck to ruck gaining inches at a time securing the ball well were well rewarded when Ashley Rowlands(recently selected fro the Welsh Womens Squad) steamed over the line from 1 metre out to win the match, Shelley Rae kicked the conversion to make sure Bristol didn't secure a losing bonus point.
