Eight different try scorers crossed for 14 tries to serve up a Halloween treat for the supporters as Wasps welcomed Bec Belles for another entertaining afternoon of rugby.
The opening 10 minutes saw Wasps score twice through Naomi Palmer and Cerys James-Sitters, both finishing off periods of positive attacking play. The early dominance was capped off by Laura Dolan in the 15th minute, her try coming after quick thinking and slick handling from the backline.
From then until half-time, the Wasps forwards began to assert themselves. Noemie Chevrier, Amanda Burton and Lydia Hume all crossed the whitewash, showcasing the direct and powerful ball carrying that laid the platform for the hosts. Not to be outdone, Palmer added her second try shortly before the break.
Half Time: 43-0
The second half saw Wasps move through the gears and continue to play an entertaining brand of rugby as they attacked towards the clubhouse, where supporters were enjoying the club's annual League Lunch.
Burton, Chevrier and Hume wasted little time in doubling their tallies for the afternoon, while Carly Foy also notched her first competitive try of the season, much to the delight of her fan club behind the posts.
Palmer continued her outstanding form by scoring her third and fourth tries of the match, taking her tally for the season into double figures and maintaining her position near the top of the NC1 scoring charts.
The introduction of the replacements saw Charlotte Clifford and Tay Fowler-Davis make their club debuts, while Abi Hicks crossed for her sixth competitive try of the season after powering through a gap in the Bec Belles defensive line.
Laura Wilcock and Alice Szlachetko shared kicking duties, successfully converting nine and two tries respectively.
Bec Belles continued to battle until the final whistle and were rewarded in the final play of the match. Some determined running from their captain gained crucial territory and laid the foundation for a late consolation try, giving the visitors 5 points to take back to Earlsfield.
