The first 10 minutes were ferocious with fantastic picking and driving from the forwards rewarded with a great try from Ehize. The backs also got in on the act and Omari saw some space (no one else saw it....) and galloped the length of the pitch to score under the posts. Alfie did the honours. Old Ruts kept their heads up and clawed their way back with two good tries either side of another Ehize score. Half time was 17-12 and it was 'game on'.
Selection issues took priority for the second half and a very different team took to the field. After a significant wobble that allow Old Ruts to get ahead to 17-22, the team managed to tighten it up again, pick up the pace and commitment and score two very nice tries from Ehize and Matthew with another Alfie conversion.
The boys deserve the win and will now look forward to the League starting again in a week's time. Selection will be hard.
Man of the match: Ehize, for his hat-trick of tries and consistent, high-level pressure, commitment and desire.
