Wasps U14 "Killer B's" defended their hallowed ground continuing their great start to the season with a third straight victory

Although a friendly match this week, the Killer B's were determined not to let Bishops Stortford repeat the narrow win they had at the end of last season. We knew it was going to be a physical game by the sheer size and aggression that the visitors like to play at.

It was another great team performance, the forwards having to compete against a much heavier pack and doing a great job in getting ball that we won out wide to the backs as quickly as possible. It was fabulous to see the 3 quarters open up and spin the ball out to the wingers and the team run-in 44 points against the oppositions only try.

Whilst is was a fantastic team effort, recognition has to be given to a few individual players, Matthew Delargy as Captain, leading by example and putting in endless tackles to defend our score. Also the mighty Conor Gilmartin, proving that "the bigger they are............!" Special mention also to Jack Coles-Hardwidge and Raphael Picard for crossing the try line and lastly James Cook as "man of the match" with some quick thinking and exploiting the gaps in the oppositions defense.

It was also commendable how each of the Wasps players when asked, played for the opposition for a short period to make up their lack in numbers. Throughout the game and during a few incidents, our team as ever, demonstrated great spirit, passion and composure to make this a memorable win.

Its also great to see that the newcomers this season have settled in so quickly and are already part of the Wasps "family". Again it comes down to your positive and open attitude to each other that makes new players feel so welcome.

So moving forward...we have a cuple more weeks of training to hone our tackling skills, tighten our scrummaging and rucking and make sure that next league game we continue our success!
