In blistering conditions Wasps fronted up again local rivals.

This was a much improved effort from last week. All players were more committed in contact, had more penetration with ball in hand and stuck to a tighter game plan of punching through the middle. This work was rewarded with a fantastic try to Omari.

Ealing were a very committed side who mostly looked slightly out of reach. However, early in the second half Wasps could have come to within two point as two tries were disallowed after some furious and frantic Ealing defence. Two tries in the dying minutes gave Ealing a far more flattering score line, but the Wasps players knew how close they had come to creating an upset.

Wasps scrummaging was strong after a couple of early wobbles and the pack dealt very well with losing Benedict to injury at half time. Wasps won virtually all lineouts and the backs made big inroads through the middle of the park.

Key points for improvement include:
committing the first man at the ruck
calling/shifting the ball in the backs rather than always taking on the defence on your own.

The team was justifiably disappointed to lose, but improving on these points will make us very competitive for our next league fixture against our old adversaries, Saracens.

Man of the match for stealing virtually every linout ball and being committed with and without the ball: Ehize.
