Wasps Ladies FC are excited to confirm the fixtures for the upcoming 2019-20 Tyrrell’s Premier 15s season, which also sees us celebrating our 35th anniversary year. The team are already hard at work at Twyford Avenue, and with an exciting but demanding pre-season camp in Montpellier already in the calendar, the start of the new season will soon be here.

Speaking at the launch Director of Rugby, Giselle Mather, said;

“The vibe at Wasps Ladies has been building over the summer with some hard graft in the gym and some focused position specific work on the field. With new faces both in the squad and the coaching team there is a real energy about Twyford Avenue.

We are really looking forward to our trip to Montpellier at the end of August to play the French Champions, that will prepare us well for the start of the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s on the 21st September.”

Wasps will kick-off the new campaign at home against Worcester Warriors on Saturday 21st September. The Warriors, having undergone a name change in the off season, have recruited well, having welcomed Irish international front row, Sarah Mimnagh, to Sixways, amongst other strong signings.

A strong start to the season will be needed as the pressure builds in the run up to Christmas with two huge back-to-back games at Twyford Avenue. Round 7 sees current Champions Saracens visiting, before last year’s runners up Harlequins are the opponents for round 8.

The opening fixture of a new decade sees us travelling to our furthest fixture on the calendar, away at Darlington Mowden Park Sharks for the second weekend in January 2020. Another notable date on the list will be our annual Big Swarm at Twyford Avenue. This year we will be hosting historic rivals Richmond on Saturday 18th April, and look forward to a full house to enjoy the day.

We have also confirmed the fixtures for the forthcoming Development League season. Following a hugely successful campaign, which saw us finish second in the league with just two defeats all season, we look forward to seeing the outstanding depth of talent in the squad continue to grow.
