Graeme Alfille-Cooke looks forward to welcoming all-comers to the Middlesex U11/12 Festival 2011, to be held at Wasps FC on Sunday 20th March 2011.

Welcome all. This is the third time that Wasps FC has hosted the Middlesex U11/U12 Festival, which for many of us is the culmination of a season’s preparation and hard work. Most importantly however, this day is a celebration of all that is good about the game of rugby. Some 50+ teams from across the county competing, having fun and enjoying the ethos that is special to the game of rugby.

A huge amount of effort has gone into the whole Middlesex Festival set up including this day. A big thanks is due to all of those who contribute to this effort, without them it would not happen. For Wasps we would like to extend a particular thank you to Gloria Sennitt, Shuna Munro and Linda O'Brien. They would be the first to say that it's a team effort, and so thanks also to the many other unsung volunteers who have come together to deliver this event. They deserve our support and praise.

We are expecting a few special guests on the day, and are sure that they will be made to feel very welcome. We're also raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer Trust and it would be great if we could dig deep to help this worthy cause.

We sincerely hope that all of the children and our guests have a great day, have fun in a competitive rugby environment and ensure that fair play and enjoyment are the winners. We're confident that everyone will respect the traditions of the game, support the officials and applaud the players. Above all, we hope that all the boys enjoy their day at Wasps, cherish the memory and uphold the traditions of the game.

Best wishes to all.
