Rest in Peace

We pass on our deepest condolences to Lois and family and Clare and family, our thoughts are with you.

Freddie joined the Wasps around 1958 at the age of 21 after playing at High Wycombe RFC and Leeds University, captaining Wasps in 1964-65 and 1965-1966.

He also played for Leicestershire & East Midlands v New Zealand on 28th December 1963 at Welford Rd, narrowly losing 14-6, and for the Barbarians in 1964 v Leicester Tigers and in 1965 v East Midlands always with his partner in crime Clive Ashby who he met at RGS High Wycombe.

Freddie opened his sport shop in 1971 and we have all been acquainted with his Hawkinsport kit whilst playing for he Wasps.

Terry Arthur was another long serving Wasp and a team mate of Freddie's. Terry had two caps for England in 1966 (Bill Treadwell and Clive Ashby were capped in the same year). He won his Blue in the winning Cambridge team of 1962. He played with fellow Wasp David Rosser in the 1962 Varsity Match.

Freddie's Funeral will take place on Monday 14th March, 11:30am at the Chiltern Crematorium HP70ND, club ties encouraged.
