..and the rest of the Wasps set-up

The Club is proud to announce that two Wasps FC U16 players have won places in the England U16 set-up.

Alexander Lundberg, a Wasp since U6, has earned a place in the Elite U16 1st XV squad to play Italy U17, April 20th, and Wales U17, April 24th. A student at Hampton School, where he has a regular starting place in the First XV as well as being in the 7’s squad, Alexander has represented Middlesex County at U14, 15 & 16 levels as well as London & SouthEast Division. He has been in the London Wasps SoR and Academy programme since U14.

Mark Makram, who joined Wasps as an U14, has been selected for England B and will be playing in a series of matches vs several Premiership Academy U17 teams. Mark is a pupil at St Benedict’s, Ealing and has represented Middlesex and London & South East. He enjoys the physicality of the game and the team spirit involved. In addition Mark is a member of the Senior London Wasps Academy.

These two players follow in the footsteps of other Wasps FC youth players who have been selected for their international or regional age groups in recent times, such as Charlie Jewers (Outside Centre, U16 Combined Academies and London Wasps Academy), Jack Haddow (Lock, London & South East U16) and Anthony Brennan (Prop, England U18 and London Wasps Academy). Special mention must go to Liam Cooper-King who represented Barbados on the wing at full international level during the preliminary rounds of the Rugby World Cup in 2008.

The system is working!Something to aim for starting this weekend at the Middlesex tournament!
