Wasps look to repeat a league double over Firwood Waterloo this season.

Wasps make six changes from the side defeated by Loughborough Lightning last week, as they hope to repeat a league double over Firwood Waterloo this season.

Wasps travel to Firwood after a difficult 20-40 defeat to Loughborough at Ealing Trailfinders last week. Despite the score line, Wasps provided an excellent attacking platform during the game crossing the whitewash three times, including yet another outstanding long-distance effort from Tova Derk.

Garnet MacKinder will earn her first start for the black and gold in Firwood as she moves in to outside centre, having joined from Saracens this summer.

Both Alice Sheffield and Claire Molloy return to the starting line-up, having started in the opening game of the season in a 32-17 victory over the Bristol Bears.

In a reshuffle in the backline, Louise Dodd makes her way into the starting line-up with Amy Wilson Hardy moving out to the wing. With two tries already this season, Abby Dow starts at full-back.

In the engine room Hannah West moves from prop to hooker, with Kany Adefeminwa-Afilaka and Anna Glyn Davies coming into the first XV to start alongside West in the front row.

With seven new summer signings in the squad for the journey to Firwood, another week of training will be crucial in helping squad cohesion as the players begin to gel together. With the explosive power in the back row and electric pace of the backline, Wasps will be sure to provide a real test of the Waterloo defence come Saturday.

Last season the two sides met three times, including a cup game. Wasps ran out victors on all three occasions, including a convincing 34-0 league win on the road at The Memorial Ground in March.

Both sides head into the fixture having won one of their opening two fixtures in this seasons Tyrrells Premier 15s. Firwood picked up a 24-12 victory at Richmond last weekend, with a flurry of tries shortly after half-time providing the catalyst for their victory. Wasps will be hoping to get back to winning ways and push up the table early in the season.
