Congratulations to the U17s who yesterday were promoted as Champions and will now play their final season of youth rugby in Division 1. After 5 years of Div 2 rugby since U13s the team finally got over the line after a couple of second place finishes.

At the beginning of the season the team had lost a few players to the academies (and mid season injuries) but after some regrouping, astute recruitment and the appointment of a new level 3 coach, coupled with the individual talents as you always get with Wasps teams, this provided structure and balance to the play.

There was a little less high risk "we will just score more than the oppo" and greater defensive balance. We managed to get 29 players to represent the 17s this season including 5 x U16s.

- we had 6 players represent various academies and national teams
- 11 represented the county [/b](2 players were also given the honour of captaining the county side (one forward & one back) and the top 2 try scores for the county this season were from Wasps FC (both forwards))
- 2 have gone onto develop highly acclaimed referee qualifications and experience
- A number also gained level 1 coaching qualifications and two of them will be doing their level 2 this year.
- The players also managed to host a 17s sevens festival.
