A victory on the road for Wasps

Wasps fought until the final whistle to hold out Gloucester Hartpury to secure a five point win.

The game got off to a slow start, both teams pushing on either side of the ball to take control of the game.

It was Gloucester that put the first points on the board, their no. 11 beating Wasps on the outside to make it over the line.

It was then the turn of Wasps prop, Crake, who equalised with a try off of a driving maul.

From here, the game entered a period of try tennis- first with Gloucester’s scrum half and a cheeky snipe, then Wasps Muir who took Wasps over to equalise going into the half time break.

After an early penalty to Gloucester, it was then the showstopper chip and chase try of Boatman that put Wasps back in front.

With 12 minutes left in the game Gloucester equalised with a try down the wing leaving Wasps searching for another.

And another they found! West brought in the final points of the match to end with a 20-25 victory for the black and yellow army.

Wasps will play their final league game of the season against Bristol at Twyford Avenue on the 8th May with their top four position in the table and play offs secured.
